• New Hotel: ConFusion is moving to a new hotel, the Van Dyke Park Suite Hotel and Conference Center in Warren, MI (810) 939-2860. This hotel has a lot of features our group will like.
  • There is an indoor pool in a large atrium. Party rooms will be around the pool, and quiet rooms are in an isolated wing. See our Party FAQ for complete room rate information.
  • There is a 220-seat auditorium with a full-size movie screen and 16mm projector. (yes, film programming is back this year)
  • There is a free continental breakfast for all ConFusion-17 members, whether or not they stay in the hotel.
  The hotel is just the right size for us to take over.

  As of January 9, ConFusion-17 filled the entire hotel. The designated overflow hotel is the Fairfield Inn, which is across the street just a little north of the Van Dyke Park. Room rates at the Fairfield Inn will be $39.60 /night for a room with one or two beds. This is a discount rate so mention ConFusion to get it, you know the drill. • Programming: See what we are planning (NEW! FINAL SCHEDULE) and send suggestions for next year! This year, we will have a Friday night Formal dance in addition to our regular Saturday night Masquerade Ball. Did you make the Robot Contests? Most of the usual features will return: Panels and Workshops; Gaming; Banquet; the best Consuite in the galaxy, and more SF professionals than you can shake a stick at (which, incidentally, we don't recommend, as it tends to irritate them).
• Reading the Stuff: Our popular book discussion group will be reading Bride of the Rat God by Barbara Hambly for the convention, as well as The Motion of Light in Water: Sex and Science Fiction Writin g in the East Village 1957-65 by our GoH!
• Computer Room: We'll be on the Net if I have anything to say about it, real-time with other cons across the country, and working on the Kinetic Internet Sculpture. Thanks again to Msen, Inc. for providing our PPP link.

  Please note, a KidFusion membership does not cover childcare, since the hotel has a fully accredited childcare facility onsite. We are working on procedures and possible discounts for those who want babysitting from the hotel, so feel free to send the child(ren)'s name with your registration if interested, but do not send us any money for childcare.
